This course aims to provide participants with a practical understanding on how to go about ideating and scaling up a FinTech startup. The course will introduce an overview of FinTech and the current vibrant ecosystem. We will enter into a deep dive of FinTech start up and scale up strategies and pitfalls, including the minimum viable product, pitch deck creation, capital raising, term sheet and growth hacks, among others. The course will also discuss practical application of numerous case studies of existing FinTechs.

After nearly a decade in Investment Banking at Lehman Brothers and Nomura across New York, Hong Kong and Singapore as a Structurer and Options Trader in the Capital Markets Division, Arun switched over to the startup side as the Chief Kristals Officer of Kristal.AI ‐ an AI based wealth management platform headquartered in Singapore ‐ overseeing all the strategies and funds on the platform and subsequently in 2020, he became the Chief Sales & Strategy Officer of Flow ‐ an AI enabled Credit Management Company. Post securing an exit, he has transitioned to the investing side joining the Investments Team at Monk's Hill Ventures - an early-stage VC fund based out of Singapore focusing on technology startups in the Asean region.
Arun is a frequent panelist and speaker at a number of conferences and appears regularly on MoneyFM to provide market insights; he satisfies his didactic nature by being an Adjunct Lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and a Training Consultant at Fintech Academy. In addition, he has invested and consulted for a number of other companies across a broad scope of industries including SaaS, Payments and Retail.
Arun graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
